Duties and Responsibilities Under very limited supervision, provides advanced leadership to Corporate Services and LCRA Business Units on communications strategies and best practices. Provides expert advice to management in the development of communications policy that contributes to the overall goal of telling LCRA's story and marketing LCRA's services to the public, elected community officials, water utility and wholesale power customers and other users of LCRA's services. Identifies communication needs and creates, manages and evaluates sensitive and complex communications products, written, visual or Internet-based. Contributes to development of communications policy at the corporate level. Interprets Business Units' communications requirements and translates them into actionable policies, processes and procedures. Leads Corporate Communications and cross-functional teams to develop strategic communications campaigns and makes team assignments. Identifies key communications issues and challenges and proposes solutions. Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements Nine or more years of experience in corporate communications, journalism or public relations. A degree(s) in communications, journalism, public relations, public policy, political science, graphic design, photography, digital photo and imaging or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

The Lower Colorado River Authority is looking for a Communications Specialist, Sr., to help tell LCRA's story of public service. This position is ideal for strategic thinkers with great relationship skills, a knack for explaining complex concepts in conversational terms and a penchant for public service. The job requires versatility. You might be called on to produce news releases, feature stories, white papers and talking points. You may assist in emergency communications and work with news reporters. You must have high-level gathering, writing and editing skills. You will need to be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively on deadline.

Salary Range Salary Grade 14: $5.378.50 - $7,797.67/monthly
