MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS: MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICER [#C10-057]

The Department of Marketing & Communications invites applications for the position of Media Relations Officer. Working in a fast paced academic environment, the successful candidate will develop and implement an aggressive, strategic media relations program promoting the people, programs, and promise of the University locally, regionally, and nationally in line with institutional priorities and marketing goals.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field and several years writing and editing for print and electronic media in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment; competence with Internet and other technology resources such as social media; Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree; significant success in placing stories/articles resulting in publication; extensive media contacts; supervisory experience, including student workers. Credentials and experience substantially comparable to the above will be considered.
